Home by the sea, nestled in a wide, tranquil bay on Egypt’s Mediterranean Coast, halfway between Fouka and Marsa Matruh, Sidi Heneish Village is a green, spacious development designed by one of the country’s leading architects, Shehab Mazhar.
A Celebration of Heritage

A history as old as time, the Bay was home to two ancient settlements of its own, Ladamantia and Zygris, both of which are even mentioned in the 3rd century Roman port guide. The bay’s modern name, Sidi Heneish, which was given to it by the Arabs, refers to another deity that must once have been associated in these parts; the ancient Greek god of medicine, Ascelpius.

Cultivating landscape, dedicated to celebrating the beauty and magic of its setting but in a manner that is sustainable and respectfulof the environment, Sidi Heneish Village is lushly planted to maximise delight to the eyes and improve the quality of life by creating a gentler microclimate for inhabitants.

Simple sophistication, Shehab Mazhar has designed his homes as a series of seemingly simple, low-slung, flat-roofed volumes surrounded by lush landscaping, asymmetrically stacked to create two and three level buildings elegantly finished in white render and local stone cladding.
